Newest Etsy Release - Peacock Feather Frame

I was inspired to create this piece after having a dream about it. In the dream, I was walking around in someone's house and spotted an oval filigree frame on a shelf with peacock feathers behind the glass, displayed in a lovely and unique fish scale pattern. It was so beautiful I found myself envious of whoever owned such a great home decor piece. When I woke up, I decided right away to see if something similar existed on the web. To my surprise, no one had created anything like it... and so, I decided that I would!

Beaded Barefoot Sandals

After seeing so many people wearing beautiful "barefoot sandals" on Pinterest, I thought maybe I would give creating them a shot. I purchased some barefoot sandals in 2012 from some lovely ladies I met during "The World's Longest Yard Sale" and love them! I wore them to bellydance classes every chance I got while I lived in Tennessee. They are super comfy!

I wanted to create really unique sandals with a simple design and, to my relief, I was able to find several gorgeous focal beads on clearance at a local craft store.
I plan to make as many sandals as possible before summer ends. Wish me luck! Finding time to create is difficult these days.

So far, I have two styles available in my newly re-opened Etsy shop. I'm still going through my inventory to rework my older pieces and introduce new product.
Stop by my shop and say hello! I do custom orders and always appreciate feedback.

Etsy Feature - "BeijoFlor"

While searching for opalescent statement jewelry on Etsy, I came across this shop and fell in love with every piece that Nicole Lauandos has for sale! Please stop by her shop "BeijoFlor" and check out her work. She has some truly lovely things!

Here's part of her personal bio: "For the past 13 years, color has been the heart of all Nicole’s work, whether it be the iridescent blues of a flamboyant morpho butterfly, or the neon glow of an exuberant gemstone. Always rich in hue, but never garish, Nicole’s jewelry is a must for every woman who yearns to introduce a splash of delicious color into her wardrobe."

Timely Affair

I have recently accepted a management position at my place of work and have been so, so very busy lately. But, luckily for me and my Etsy shop, I had a couple days off this past week and was able to create new jewelry pieces.

I'm still in love with steampunk style, even after four years. The beauty of the copper, bronze, antique gold and brass all blending together in harmony makes my heart happy. Rustic/vintage stuff never really gets "old" to me!

Featured below is a new earring set that I created with the help of ICE resin, glitter and tiny watch parts. I call it the "Timely Affair" earring set and it is now available in my Etsy shop!

Moonstone Features

It's time for some Etsy features! This time, I'm showing off a few Moonstone-themed jewelry pieces. Moonstone is the most beautiful of all stones, in my opinion. It's been said to attract love, provide protection, aid in sleep and even help with weight loss. The lore of the stone doesn't interest me nearly as much as its appearance; it's entrancing and beautiful beyond words...

Grandma's Christmas Gift

For Christmas this year, I decided to make a collage for my grandmother, Zola Ivadell Wooden. She loves to sew and has been a master in the craft for years. I created the collage to symbolize all the buttons she's sewn onto various outfits for her children and grandchildren; the tree represents a family tree and the large Oak that stood at the side of the yard on the property where my grandmother raised her family for a long time.
Of course, the words "Love" and "Adore" are self explanatory.

I hope she likes her gift. I'm excited to give it to her tomorrow.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Sales Outside Etsy

I'm extremely happy with my recent jewelry and artwork sales. With my face-to-face sales and Etsy sales combined, I've sold sixty items since I began exploring my abilities this past July.
Before I opened my Etsy shop in the summer of 2011, I never knew just how much fun it would be to create things! It's a good feeling when you're able to say "I made that" when someone asks where you got your accessories.
Below are some photos of the jewelry I've sold outside my shop.

Warm Mocha Morning

With my anticipation for autumn, I've decided to create jewelry that reflects the feeling of the season. Of course, coffee always reminds me of fall. It reminds me of festivals, early mornings and adventures that include campfires, hiking and photography of the brightly-colored leaves.

My "Warm Mocha Morning" earring set and bracelet were made to celebrate the fact that the autumn season begins soon. I can't wait!
